The refusal by INFINITY Talk WTIC-A/HARTFORD to air ads from a conservative group holding a forum on Islam and terrorism has the group crying foul. A press release posted at the CONSERVATIVE VOICE website claims that the PEOPLE'S TRUTH FORUM had a preliminary agreement to buy eight 60 second spots on WTIC-A for the SEPTEMBER 21 "The Radical-Islamist Threat to World Peace and National Security" forum but the deal was cancelled.

FORUM Pres. (and VIETNAM VETERANS FOR TRUTH member) JEFFREY EPSTEIN claims INFINITY told him that "too many people might be emotionally affected by the subject matter ... It's too controversial to be aired at this time."

Anyone want to weigh in on the fallout from turning down business because of the content of that business?
 
It's Infinity's call to make, and the fallout will be minimal. The way to get ANY message out is to have someone run for federal office, then stations have to carry your message, unedited, even if its 58 sweconds of f-bombs and who the spot is poaid for. In the 70s or 80s, WLW edited ads from then-candidate Larry Flynt laced with profanity, Flynt sued, the Supreme Court agreed. More recently, a congressional candidate ran ads on WLW alledgeing that 9/11 was perpetrated by George Bush and the Israelis, and the planes were flown by remote control. They could not refuse to run them. <P ID="signature">______________

With any kind of luck, the refusal will get them more publicity than their spots on Infinity.

Maybe they can be guests on Howard Stern. Talk about the 70 virgins.
