Just some thoughts

Well I've seen some crazy things on this board before, so let me post something crazy myself. What if this whole thing were a bit? Is it normal for a company to honor a contract that still has over two years to go? I've heard of companies paying out the rest of a contract, however 9 months is the longest that I've heard of. And didn't Russ make more money for KLLI than this new crap will? I saw something the other day indicating that the mid-day show might be temporary. So it wont shock me if Russ returns sometime after the new year calling everyone idiots and giving reasons as to why no one should have ever believed everything. KLLI will never make a proffit if they have to pay Russ until 2011 with the crap that they have to offer now. Yeah this sounds crazy, however I've listened to radio for many years. I'm pretty sure that the sports change is real, but don't be surprised if Russ returns back to his normal time slot.

Ive seen crazier things happen, I have a gut feeling they're waiting for his trial to come up to make a final decision, its prolly tied to his morality clause in his contract....

I have a feeling about that too. Maybe it had to do with his behavior. Get over the bit thing, please. His die hard fans swore up and down it was a bit after the arrest. Uh...NOT!

I guess there is no IQ test to post, but after reading this....maybe there should be.

It is highly likely that KLLI has a morals clause in his contract which could void the balance of the deal. Sometimes those clauses are worded in such a way that a criminal conviction is not even necessary if the performer acts in a way that is inappropriate. Or, they may have an opt-out before 2011 (if that is when his contract actually expires). Remember, just because Russ said something about his contract on the air doesn't mean it is accurate. If he was stupid enough to sign a six month non-compete he may have to sit home with no income for that time, which makes a $1 million contract actually become a $500,000 contract.

For those that think it's a bit, or that he'll be back think about this-
how many people here or on the Observer blog have said variations of 'I'm changing that preset"?

If even half those people carry through, that's one heck of a lot of lost listeners who won't be there if/when they do the bit 'reveal'. (if it was a bit)

Or to put it another way, what if in the next month people find a show or station that they like better? Or that buy Sirius-XM?

Think about all those poetntial lost listeners and ask yourself if any business that relies on realting to their audience would really screw with listeners like that?
