Yeah, I know he's also in charge of the other AM too, but really, the stations are all syndicated programming except for morning drive.
Clearly he - and the GM - don't actually LISTEN to the station.
Last night I decided to torment myself by listening between 9pm and 12am to see how many screw ups there were. I'm dismayed to report that NOT A SINGLE STOPSET was error free!
Traffic reports misfiring, the "I'm Schnitt on WIOD and now on 100.3 FM" kept starting too late and running over into the next spot.
Spots would start, only to abruptly stop after 5 seconds, stopsets would run long and we would end up returning to the program right in the middle of the segment.
I spent a few days last week in Tampa and what's really sad is that WIOD's equivalent - in almost every way - WLFA-AM in Tampa executes FLAWLESSLY - and can somehow even afford LIVE traffic late into the evening, as opposed to the same 2 or 3 pre-recorded "traffic reports" that don't mention anything about CURRENT traffic conditions in Dade and Broward, just "overnight construction on the 112 Westbound..." over and over again.
