I went to PBI with an older guy named Glenn Nothstein. He ended up at WYNS in Lehighton where he was from. Im just curious how long he was on WYNS and what happened to him? He was a cool guy. Most of the people I went to the Pennsylvania Broadcast Institute never went anywhere. There was Todd Bickert who worked with the old Traffax for a while but apparantley it did'nt work out and he's been out of radio ever since. A guy from upstate NY who I never heard from again and some guy named Dan who I saw 5 years ago working the door at Rookies. Dan seemed quite agitated and jaded when I asked him if he ever did anything in radio. I think he may have been jealous. As to why I dont know. Im just a jabronie on WGPA!

ok then with the wgpa info. what happened to bob kuhnsman i started in radio in 1979 at the pop topper 1600 whol am. he was leaving and i was his weekend fill in...then phil may quit and they gave me morning drive for the entire summer of 1979. he gave me the 15 minute tour of how to handle the weekend shift and we had a live preacher on sun pm pastor oates. when he could not show bob kuhnsman had a pretaped show just in case and on the side of the reel to reel tape it said "instant oates". he was a funny guy. I am so sad to here he passed. I live in Harrisburg and wanted to visit him this fall during his shift to geeze about old times. do you or any people have any funny bob kuhnsman stories???

Bob Kuhnsman loved radio and gave up a good job in NYC to be home with his mother and do radio. I did not know he was on WHOL. In 2004 he made some off the wall remark on a Christmas promo that Timmer did'nt approve of. I forget what it was exactly. Something about blowing up. Anyway the tape was saved and played at the Christmas Party. Everybody had a good laugh.

I went to PBI in 94 and have been in radio ever since. I currenly live produce a morning show in Las Vegas. I owe alot to Suzy Sands and the rest of the instructors at PBI.

Well, if you're in Vegas doing radio, do you think you can help a fellow PBI graduate out? I'll send you my stuff and I'll be in Vegas by next week. My e-mail is [email protected]. Even if you dont have a job for me right away I'll go to Vegas if there is even the slightest possibility of getting in somewhere in the future. Pleas e-mail me! I'll put my notices in here of course. If there is any level of interest I'll be in Vegas by the first of May. Please e-mail me!

sorry Doc, I know of no openings......but I have your email if anything pops up.....what have you done?

I was Bob Kuhnsman's PD for a short while from October 1986 through December 1988. Bob was a quiet guy when I knew him and I think it may have bothered him that he was passed over for PD. He was very helpful by filling in whatever shifts we ever needed him for. He was often running late on our format clock and would come out of our :50 stopset at :58, trying to back-time our news. If I had a nickel for every time he played Gene Cotton's "Before My Heart Finds Out" (2:22) or Bill Wither's "Ain't No Sunshine" (2:04) to get into the news I'd be a rich man. Phil May was also a very agreeable part-timer who lived with his mother. Phil wasn't blessed with a great voice, but would do anything I ever asked of him. The one thing I'll always remember about Phil was how he would profusely sweat while he was on the air. Our control room wasn't ice cold like most, but it wasn't 75 either. Phil always seemed to be wiping his brow with a hanky. I miss those guys and those times alot.

Phil is a good guy. We miss him doing Moravian Football at WGPA.
