Justin's already co-hosting "Daybreak" and the mid-day news. He reads well and seems affable to me, but looks like a college kid on his first broadcasting job. He chafed a little this morning when Alexa asked him to tell the story of how he got his name (from Justin Boots, as it turned out.) They also showed photos of his kids, but the anchors seemed to carefully sidestep asking him about a wife.

Wonder what the holdup is on getting Ms. Hyland on the air? Or is this just a slow "anointing" with Macie and/or Jeff co-hosting with him? Will it be Jeff/Hyland on next week instead? Can't wait to see Alexa do battle with the new Eye Candy. Being called "Greek B!tch" may be mild for what she may be in for.

he sure likes to make side comments about News Stories, which is not always bad -- but he has made his co-anchors blink a couple of times with remarks

Maybe his mentor is Chris Marrou of KENS in San Antonio. Chris has made snide remarks about stories for years and years.

I kind of like him, I think he and Macie play off each other well. Ms. Hyland was expected to show up after Justin from the original announcment.

This mornings' Daybreak was another technical train wreck though, Shots of Macie staring off into space while Justin read the story, then the wrong tape, then therewas background vocal off and on throughout the rest of the news segment.

Is it just me or does Alexa seem to not say more than "here the latest traffic from the telecopter" and then "back to you Macie and Justin" like there is no sure way to tell who has the next line???

Possible that there're few next lines in the show rundown for Alexa. She DOES have some direct on cam competition warming up in the wings or just following the moving van into town.

Rundowns usually show who has the next story, thus 'who to pitch it to'--assuming that the TelePrompTer is cued correctly, and the video is ready, and the right camera is switched to, and the anchor hasn't stepped away for coffee, or that Alexa hasn't put the appropriate anchor to sleep with her traffic report, etc.

I did see that misfire with Macie staring into space. Pretty funny, but sad nonetheless that those silly errors keep happening.

Alexa MUST read this board. I haven't heard her talking about all her "friends" in the Mid-Cities coming in on 183 lately.

Conomos is useless on traffic reports. If you notice the desk will throw it to traffic, Conomos throws it to Michael Scott in the copter. Scott throws it back down to Conomos, Conomos throws it back to the desk. Take out the middle person, in this case Conomos, and maybe we can get a few more seconds of traffic news than the 10 seconds viewers now get.
