Justin Pawlowski replaces Scott Ledger as Bucs studio host

Not too surprising, as Pawlowski is like Duemig in that he's another Glazer "yes man" who extolls the virtues of "Mark Dominik's Plan" instead of criticizing the Bucs for not brining in any high-priced/big name free agents.

Not that I was expecting Ron or Ian, who routinely criticize the cheapskate Glazers, to be given the gig, as the Bucs control who is hired.

It would have been nice if Matt Salmon (sp?) or Rich Herrera had gotten the gig. For all of Rich's faults, (notably, not allowing callers to mock Anderson or the other announcers), he probably would have been more impartial than The Commish.

Still, Pawlowski is less irritating than Ledger, as he doesn't act like he's part of the 53-man roster and say "we are struggling at the half" or "we have gotta get going here in the playoffs."

Maybe Mace Michaels, but I'm not sure if his no-compete with Channel 8 would have allowed it or if he even still wants to work in this market.

I reiterate, this should be a two man gig or one man with multiple contributors. One voice over all that time with no other...and especially Pawlowskis...is too trying for most ears.

Sammon (correct spelling) and Herrera are employees of their respective teams, so for them to take the Bucs' gig they would have to quit their jobs and work for Clear Channel. Of course Pawlowski will be pro-Bucs, you'll never find a voice on a team broadcast who openly opposes what the "home team" is doing. Pawlowski is smart, and I think this is a great step for him in his young career.

Bad choice. Last time I had the misfortune of hearing him, his (terrible)voice was muffled by virtue of still having Jon Gruden's package in his mouth.

Ron and Ian?

Early last week, Ian apparently was trying to impress their listeners with his wide-ranging knowledge, by dropping this nugget; that legendary Bucs' radio voice Gene Deckerhoff was also the voice "of the Gators."

I'm guessing Ron chose not to correct him on air because;

A); he didn't want to embarass his partner.

B); he didn't know himself that Deckerhoff is actually the longtime voice of Florida State.

C); he is so in love with the sound of his own voice at this point of his own career, that he simply zones out when Ian mindlessly drones on and on about his brief NFL career, local eateries, party pals, etc., -- so that when Ian finally stops talking, Ron can continue desperately trying to be relevant by dropping names of long forgotten rockers and d-list celebs that the vast majority of 620's listeners don't know, or could care less about.

Too harsh?

God forbid the guy have passion for his team. Ledge is an incredible talent, my friend. If you can't see that, I would question your ability to carry out menial tasks, such as using a sharp knife properly or operating a motor vehicle. Furthermore, I would say that your commentary on radio is analagous to a Canadian complaing about the Bush administration.

Is T.J. Rives still going to be a part of the Bucs broadcasts this year? Recently I have heard him on FSR and wondered if he got a permanent gig with the network or if he's still local.

A quick check of Google shows that Scott Ledger is STILL not employed by any other station, despite the fact that he said he was taking meetings with "many other networks."

Clearly, this "incredible talent" is so incredible that he can't find work even though his no-compete has expired.

So much for Google. Ledger..whom I'm sure we ll be hearing from here very soon.... is mid days at The Bone and was pitching a Fantasy Football League for the station as well as a Sunday Morning Football show at 1025 focusing on college and pro games of the weekend.

If nothing else that would make two FM stations with some form of non infomercial talk. Getting there.

He's a fine, veteran talent and if his gig catches on could draw some Bucs fans over.

Haha! You're an idiot. Bet you wish you had researched that one a little better.

[EDIT]

1) Justin and Ryan Neice sounded very good. Nice cross talk, good pacing, great flow, and good energy. And their CONTENT was spot on! In other words they know what the hell they're talking about.

2) The reason Justin is on... is because I took the midday gig at 102.5 in FEBUARY and though Cox was fine with me continuing with Bucs Radio, Jeff Ryan who used me for 7 years ABSOLUTELY wanted me back, and I, OF COURSE wanted to continue the gig...But CC said 'no'.

[EDIT] you're like these little childish snipers who are angry at a business, that has kicked your asses to the curb a LONG TIME AGO...
