"JVC KD HDR1"

Shill spot? When a person believes that there's a conspiracy amongst those who disagree with them, for whatever reason, that's a good sign of paranoia.

How about all the end users who rate it well? Paid off? There comes a time where you have to calm down here Pocket.

Since it is only radio-geeks buying HD radios, of course the reviews will be mostly-positive. Just look at the other HD shill message boards - all they do is try and promote HD radio, which is absolutely laughable ! :D

In my case, my car radio was starting to act up and needed to be replaced. I figured that as long as I was going to buy one anyway, it might as well be an HD. If the price had been in the $300 price bracket, I probably would have waited but $30 less than I had ever paid for an aftermarket radio with lots of bells and whistles was just too much to turn down! I actually enjoy it even more than I thought I would, which is hard to believe and reception is perfect virtually everywhere I go!

Yes, this is an excellent receiver. I just installed one myself, and my initial impression of it is very good. 8)

I suppose you can offer proof of your assertion that only radio geeks buy HD radios. Let's see it. We're waiting.

"HD Radio: The Battle for Your Mind" Bridge Ratings Monday, January 22, 2007

"Thus far it is still the audiophiles and early adopters who show interest and that is where the 'several hundred thousand' units sold comes in to play."

No problem ! :D

Another Blog. Taking these bogs as fact is like believing that Rush Limbaugh is a great source for news. How about some facts instead of opinion for once.On a side note, the way you keep posting about digital radio around the world I'm holding out hope that you aren't an American. We have enough trouble. :)

Oh, I'll bet he votes. Why else do you think we have the government that we deserve?

That's just it; I'm not an early adopter! The price of bells and whistles has come down so much since I last bought an in-dash radio that I can get the aforementioned bells and whistles and still have HD for less than I used to pay for an AM/FM/Cassette deck with no bells and whistles, at least not by today's standards! Let's review: Perfect reception, extended frequency response, improved channel separation, extra stations and soon, 5.1 surround sound! With prices quickly falling to analog levels(where they always said they would eventually be), what don't you like about this?

Yes, problem. Dave Van Dyke's blog comes to a conclusion based on some numbers. He offers no proof. Neither he nor you have actually asked every single buyer of an HD radio whether or not they're a "radio geek."

You've proven nothing.

Re: "JVC KD HDR1" Customer Reviews

You can read over 150 (and counting !!) customer reviews over at the Crutchfield site.

Now only $159.99 with Rebate !! ;D

Most customers, have good things to say about the JVC KD-HDR1, after it has been installed....

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-4xcTrOnp0ic/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?s=0&cc=01&g=300&tab=review&i=257KDHDR1&pg=1&sortBy=3

So for an online dealer of electronics equipment, 150 HD car radios (by the count of the reviews) is good statistics, lets think about that... that 3 radios sold for every state in the U.S.... Yeah at those rates good thing Crutchfield sells 'other' electronics...

Just proves you can't trust anything or anyone you hear on most major radio stations and networks anymore. Fake news, HD radio hype, snake oil salesmen, etc.
