Jwin Electronics I168 HD Radio

I almost thought about picking up this radio at H E B the other day, does anyone have any reviews on it? I thought about having it setup by my computer.

I hope it is really cheap. Jwin isn't exactly a brand that inspires any confidence. And you want to buy a radio at the supermarket? Sure....

Let us know how you make out.

79$ that was why I thought about getting it for my Computer, I never really knew much about them.

I don't see anything about the jWin at jWin's website, or at http://www.hdradio.com

I did a search for it at J&R Music World, and it pointed to the iLuv (interesting, as I didn't enter the search term "HD Radio", only "jWin I168". Try it at their website...it points to the Iluv! Makes me wonder if they're the same radio(?)

Can anyone point to the jWin online?

As for the quality of jWin, I had one of their boomboxes, which sounded quite nice (thgouth headphones). It had tons of features...mp3 playback from cd (which sounded very nice), an aux input (I used it as a bedside headphone amplifier, for XM and audio from my "netbook", an Asus eeepc), a USB port (it could play mp3s from a thumb drive or external hard drive), and an SD card slot. The tuner was even decent...analog tuning with a digital frequency counter, which seemed to be "spot-on". The AM secsion even sounded very good, and was reasonably sensitive. What's not to love? Well, the display quit working after just a few months. A pity! I replaced it with a Presidien I picked up at Radio Shack, which has all the same features, minus the SD slot and USB. It also sounds very nice, and so far no problems with the display.

Interesting feature of the Presidien AND the jWin, something which consumers should demand...they play through track breaks on audio cds with no pause or delay...shockingly rare these days, and crucial for albums like Dark Side of the Moon, the "second side" of The Beatles "Abbey Road", or any live album, where audio continus through the track breaks! EVERY good cd player used to be able to handle this simple challenge. These days LOTS of players can't! I won't own a player that can't do this!
