K-104.7's Ratings

What's with K-104.7? They lost nearly a third of their audience in the latest Arbitron ratings.

Anybody have any thoughts?

I worked there for awhile and I talked about this with Tom Jeffrires the PD/Morning man. We both agreed the ratings were a crock and it depended a lot on where the diaries were placed.

In the Charlotte metro the 104.7 signal is very strong. On a cheap radio 102.9 with it's 33KW gets killed on Charlotte's east side by WSOC-FM and some of the other strong signals. However if you are in Rock Hill 104.7 starts to suffer since there is a 104.7 in Columbia, SC.

The see/saw ratings made us very skeptical. Year after year 102.9, 104.7 and some of the others really don't change all that much.
