K-EARTH, JACK FM & HOLLYWOOD HAMILTON...could it be???

It seems most people who post here feel Hollywood Hamilton isn't a good choice for mornings on KRTH. I agree, it's just not a suitable match. That got me to thinking...is there a chance Jack Silver & CBS put Hollywood on KRTH to "get his feet wet" in L.A. morning drive, so they can move him to mornings at JACK FM when they add an air staff later this summer? You have to admit Hollywood Hamilton would be a much better "fit" on JACK FM. This is about the only reason I can see them putting Hollywood on KRTH. Thoughts? Comments?

Most "Jack"-type stations run without live personalities, even some who have been running the format for many months.

"Jack" in L.A. will probably remain jockless for the long term.

Jack Los Angeles is planning on adding jocks by the end of the summer. It's well known in the industry. They're looking at CHR vets mostly. New York and Chicago also will by fall. Don't know about Dallas but they've peaked so I expect they will too.

This format is not just music. Go listen to the original stations in Canada.

Joseph, I hate it when you post trying to sound authoritative without even so much as reading the rest of the board first.

We knew weeks ago that Jack is looking to add air talent by Labor Day.

Pay attention if you're gonna run that post total up ...

Hope I'm not straying too far off topic, but this morning I was flipping between Hollywood Hamilton
and Ryan Seacrst (KISS FM) while half asleep, and the funny thing...I was having a hell of a time
distinguishing between the two. There is something very generic in both voices. Both do light weight
entertainment gossip. I think Hollywood sounds more happier. But I can understand how some who
grew up with the station might feel something is lacking. I think Charlie Tuna would best be suited
for that KRTH morning slot. When I flip over to KBIG and hear his voice, I get that nostalgic feeling.
There is a "warmth" in his voice which I feel is lacking in Hollywood and Ryan's.

Charlie would be great on KRTH! He auditioned for the morning gig, as did many other 60's & 70's era heavyweights from around the country when they were looking for a replacement for Robert W. Morgan. Charlie Van Dyke got the gig. If Tuna had gotten the job it wouldn't have been the first time he took Morgan's place, having done so at KHJ. I should add that Charlie sounded really good at KMPC doing a talk format before they were sold to ABC.
