K-Hits 96.5 Little Rock - 96 hits In A Row Every Night!!!

Looks like Little Rock's 96.5 K-Hits has ditched its 90s centric/Gen X format and has gone CHR/Pop. It's up against Alice 107.7, and one novel approach it's taking to differentiate itself from the competition is by going commercial-free every night after 7 PM. They bill it as 96 hits in a row, and this is the first time I've come across a commercial CHR taking this approach on a nightly basis.

I think this used to be really common back in the 80s - CHRs (that basically had the same playlist) would battle each other over who played more "hits in a row"

In many markets you had 2-3 CHRs battling it out, but I don't remember any of them doing more than 10 to 12 hits in a row per hour. A notable exception was San Francisco's Rhythmic leaning 106 KMEL with 18 jams in a row.
I believe in 1988 Hot 105 Miami would play 105 songs in a row while Power 96 would top it by doing 196 songs in a row...

Still, no station has ever attempted to play 96 songs in a row every night to the best of my knowledge.
