K-Hits format tweak?

Driving near Folsom last night I noticed K-Hits playing Starship "We Built This City" a 1985 hit. Then again this afternoon I heard them play Bryan Adams "Summer of '69" also a 1985 hit . Have they decided to add 80's titles permanently?

That station is still on the air? :)

I listened not long ago and it seemed all over the place. Seems like a perfectly good license gone to waste.

Gotta say they have one of the best performing class-A signals I have ever witnessed!

By "best performing" do you mean ratings or technical?

To understand the moves that Results Radio makes, you need to understand it's owner Jack Fritz... THAT, I'm still working on... But really, like a lot of companies they don't always follow logic. When they picked up this station they already had a very successful oldies programmer dominating the ratings in Chico, but told him right up front that he won't be considered for the job. Then they blew him out and changed the format of the Chico station even though it had garnered some of the highest ratings for an oldies station in the nation. Make you scratch your head...

Best performing as in technical; i.e. transmission signal for 'class-A' coverage. Short of near my home between Pollock Pines and Placerville near the Grizzy Flat site due to the terrain. Any signal that is solid all the way to Tracy 70-plus miles away is amazing!

Maybe it's my age, but I find myself listening to them over most other Sacramento FM's. I may tune into KSEG (96/9 The Eagle), 98 Rock or 93/7 Jack-FM.

I've noticed a heavy infusion of 80s music lately, too. Just yesterday, I heard Eddie Money's "Take Me Home Tonight," an '87 release.

Hey Oldies fans... Remember "Standards"? The audience is getting too old to be in the money. It's the same problem with some Classic Rocks. If you don't adapt to capture a good number of 35-49 audience, you'll sink. Ratings mean nothing if your top demo is 55-64!
