K & J

Today, Kathy & Judy ended their show stating that today their contract with WGN has ended and they do not as of yet have a new one. They said that if they don't come back on WGN, they will be back together somewhere. Now K & J are one of my stupid guilty pleasures. I don't think WGN will be stupid enough to let them go, but I can't think of anywhere else they would be able to do their thing. I just hope that this is settled soon.

Maybe they could broker some time on WSBC?

I'm left wondering what's happening behind the scenes here--whether Kathy and Judy are asking for a ton of money a la Garry Meier, or if this is part of management's plan to make the station sound younger by "getting rid of them without really getting rid of them."

"WGN is continuing to negotiate with Kathy & Judy's agent in hopes of reaching an agreement with them on a new contract. During this process, Kathy & Judy have decided they'd prefer to stay off the air. Thank you for listening to WGN."

Looks like Dean Richards will be filling in. <a target="_blank" href=http://wgnradio.com/schedule/index.htm>http://wgnradio.com/schedule/index.htm</a>

As my dad said when he decided to walk from there rather than being pushed out... WGN is quickly coming to stand for "Who Goes Next?"

Terms weren't announced.
