K-JOY to be simulcast on WLVG

That's really a shame, I prefer the music mix at LVG over KJY. WLVG plays more variety, and has more of an oldies lean than the Hot AC style of K-Joy. I'm not suprised though, as Barnstable views having 2 AC's on the island a waste and would rather merge them and cut costs.
So this will leave WRCN alone in the Medford studio.

I agree. I thought LVG was a better programmed AC music wise. But one knew things were heading south over there if you just listened to it... no identity (just "96.1"), more voicetracking... now it's a repeater.

What do you expect from a sales and marketing company?? ::)

Soon enough they will find a way to send one of their stations over 103.9, perhaps B103...man I can just imagine the staff at B103 drooling over that idea!

They'll be able to take on WALK better with the simulcast. I wonder if they'll simulcast it like how Party FM used to, with separate ads on each frequency.

Just what we need...another WALK-type format. I would have preferred Scott Shannon's Oldies Channel or a simulcast of Hartford's alternative station (104.1). The oldies channel can be played all day without all the chatter and the alt station would be the only one here. K-JOY is just another WALK and that already blankets the area. :p

I cant get WLVG where I live, when did the switch take place or is it more rumors started by people hoping it will happen!

March 1 has come and no simulcast yet. Is anyone surprised Barnstable missed their target date? I do have confirmation that there are banners in the Medford offices that say "KJoy 98.3 & 96.1 March 1" Who knows?

And now LVG sounds as crappy as every other Barnstable station. They had how many weeks to prep for this and the best they can do is a double processed low bitrate stream?

The last halfway decent AC station on LI is now gone, in favor of KJOY's bland Hot AC ish playlist (as if WALK, WMJC, and WBAZ arent enough). How does this even serve the people of Long Island? The whole meaning of serving the public and live and local are out the window.
WLVG had a better mix of music than K-JOY. Who needs a Nassau station broadcasting in the Pine Barrens. Serving the public my a@@. I wish the FCC would crack down on this nonsense.

Well....there goes another preset.
Sure do have a lot of them freed up lately.
Remember when the car radio didn't have enough of 'em?
