K-Love buying Portland, OR station

In the just released 8/6/2013 CDBS Public Access application EMF is buying 97.9 KXPC Aloha, Oregon in Portland, OR for 6.8 million. They signed a network affiliation agreement on July 25, 2013 for it to rebroadcast EMF's K-Love format.

K-Love and Air1 have had a rimshot signal in Portland with translators up to now.

That's interesting ... EMF recently sent KNRQ 103.7 LEBANON to Cumulus.... (Which previously had been broadcasting KLove to the EUGENE OR Area)

97.9 was a Eugene, OR station -- the format from 97.9 moved to 103.7 when Cumulus took it over from EMF (I think?) -- it's interesting that EMF is now taking over 97.9 with it's CP to move from Eugene to Portland.. [Guess both parties had been playing the cards on this one for awhile].

Looks like Salem will have competition in Portland now to their Fish at 104.1. [And Way FM at 104.5]

When is "enough signals enough" for these guys? Please work on the incredibly bland and generic programming before putting it on even more signals.

Right Matt in everything you said.

jjschim you are also right about the bland and generic programming as their playlist is too tight as has been discussed many times.

Way FM is actually broadcast on an HD2. 104.5 is a translator. 97.9 is now on the air. K-Love's previous station is running a continuous loop, to get people to move over there and also announcing the upcoming move of AirOne to that frequency.

The have gone into markets with Air-1 prior to having K-love on in the same market I think Houston and Dallas may be the start of a build out of Air-1.

They don't know the meaning of enough.
