I saw this and was hoping for there was a chance for new ownership and the return for the old rock/alternative format on 103.9, like a one in a million chance. They even got “X” in the call letters. To quote Dumb and Dumber: “So you’re saying there’s a chance.” LOL
This also reminded me that Bryan/College Station has three CCM stations including: KWUP—a KSBJ simulcast, KVLX— K-Love, and KPWJ—the local commercial CCM,”Peace 107.” There is also an LPFM that plays a lot of CCM on 96.9. The market seems to support them just fine.
It makes me wonder that if a smaller market like Bryan/College Station could support a local commercial CCM station that competes against two other CCM networks then maybe it could work in a larger market such as Dallas/Fort Worth. People may see that three is a crowd when it comes to most formats, but I think a local CCM with good street cred would do well against some out-of-towners.
