K-LOVE ON 98.3 WHAT STATION IS THIS?

I noticed hearing K-LOVE on 98.3 in Clovis the signal is weak, but up to 2 weeks ago I Heard a weak signal from KWNN in Turlock, Did KWNN flip formats, Is this the new station proposed in Huron, or is it from somewhere else? I do know its not the low power station in Madera that has 9 watts, besides K-LOVE already has a station in Madera 91.1. KWNN always overrided it anyway.I checked the K-LOVE websight and there no 98.3 listed in CA.

I noticed that too. I was at Willow and Herndon at the time after sunset. I should of waited til they gave a station identification. It did sound like some Christian music playing and not that hip-hop junk from KWIN. I am curious about that too. Those Pioneer Supertuners can pick up everything! I can even get 105.7 KOZZ Reno from Chukchansi at night on it!

Another high mountain station that comes in in different areas of Clovis and Fresno is KMMT 106.5 from Mammoth Lakes, they have a wide format everything from Classic Rock ,to Modern, to CHR.
I checked KWINs website and it hasn't changed, but they could have kept 97.7 and changed 98.3.
Hey Michael Rivers Kramer do you have any idea where this mystery station on 98.3 is coming from?

Hey MRK do you have any idea were this mystery signal on 98.3 is coming from.

Do you think EMF is LMAing KZLA in Huron? Have they started testing?

I was thing of that to, its possible.I see on radio-locator there CP contours show it can reach Clovis.

There is a overlap with KQKL, but they could be using it to serve Coalinga,Avenal, Mendota and the rest of Western Kings and Fresno County, or it will become AIR ONE. MRK I did see your thread about 106.3 in Kingsburg, EMF could be linking 98.3 with 106.3 with AIR ONE since K-LOVE is also on 91.1 KLVY in Madera.

aghhh! so annoying.

no. KWIN did not flip 98.3 they NEED that simulcast.

used to be able to get KWIN in Fresno... can't anymore.

so annoying... another Christian repeater nobody's listening to.

Gotta love the FCC.

FCC data base shows applications from "Radio Assist Ministry" on 98.3 for Firebaugh, Hanford, and Reedley and a license for Madera with 9w.

But per the data base, the Elephant in the room is the 18.9kw application from KZLA for Riverdale.

As well it should have been dismissed. First it was shot down because it would have left Hurron without an on the air radio service as required, and second Riverdale had previously been determined not to meet the standards of a "community" by the fcc audio division. Hurron/Gold Coast/Point/High Desert broadcasting recently had it's booster app. for 104.7 Oxnard at the 106.7/96.3 site in Glendale shot down. They also have an old (2004) app. for a translator in Signal Hill (next to Long Beach) for the Oxnard station that has not yet been rulled on. The propossed "site" is in an apartment complex and could never be built, not to mention the fact the city planning commission has said even if it were in a field they would not authorize construction of it.

What I'm hearing is K-Love same feed as KLVY 91.1 Madera/Fairmead and KQKL 88.5 Selma, The low power 9 watt station KCJH "Your Christian Companion" can only be heard for a few blocks in Downtown Madera ,this is entirly different. K-LOVE has nothing to do with Radio Assist Ministry(Your Christian Companion).

I'm thinking it's gotta be from Huron. KZLA must be on with their upgraded cp. And LMAd by K-Love. The radio-locator map almost looks more like a B1 signal than an A. I get a weak signal across town over here in old fig.

Mystery solved. I read that K252DO 98.3 in Madera is now translating KLVY Fairmead. It's been on the air for a little more than a year and had previously been relaying KCJH Livingstone, which rebroadcasts KYCC Stockton.

Now, this makes a hell of a lotta sense. Like, how far is it from Madera to KLVY's 50,000 watt, 500 hundred foot high antenna? The area served by this 9 watt @ 300ft. translator is well within KLVY's 70db contour. I guess K-Love didn't like having KYCC in town so they got control of the translator.

No room for LPFM but we get multiple duplicates of programming by a handful of owners.

Ken, aim your antenna at Madera and see if you get that K-Love signal better in that direction.

YES that must be it, talk about overlapping the KLVY transmitter in up in the foothills near Coarsegold and reaches to Hanford, but they have 2 other sister stations A 50,000 wt station south of Selma KQKL and one near Coalinga KDKL 88.3 up in the west foothills above I-5 nera Harris ranch, talk about over coverage, if these were commercial stations the FCC would not allow that much overlap.

Gotta love the FCC.

Amen to that, Todd! (absolutely NO pun intended)
