K-Love shifts around in the North Valley

Driving up thru the North Valley this weekend I noticed that KLVB 102.7 is now running a loop annocement that K-Love is now on 88.3 Chico/Red Bluff, and 107.9/101.9 in Redding. It also said that KLVB 102.7 will flip to Air1 soon.Wouldn't this overlap with KARA?

Not in any areas that count. Please remember that signals strong enough for radio geeks like you and often times are not adequate for in-home and at work listening. KLVB and KARA are will over 100 mile apart from each other.

K-love/EMF is well known tendency have stations that are redundant.

Wow! It has a preety strong signal! Its still coming in here in Dunsmir, moer than 100 miles away.Any guess as to when it will flip?

I hope they do the kind thing and offer to sell KARO 91.5 Redding to Jefferson Public Radio. JPR is about to lose their 90.9 translator of KSOR to a new Religious sign-on at 91.1.

I know Redding is so underserved by Christian broadcasters.... ???

I was driving back through Redding this morning and checked 91.5, It is now running a loop saying that Air1 has moved to 102.7 so I'm guessing it will be sold and flipped soon, Is their anyone on the boards from the Redding Area, could you check 91.5 once a day to see if anything changes? Also the KLVB calls have moved to 91.5

Message to EMF! Please sell 91.5! You do NOT need three stations and three translators to serve a community like Redding.

Who has the CP for the new FM at 91.1, will it be anthor KVIP translator? Also what JPR network is on 90.9 now? If JPR was to lose coverage of Redding, Their is still North State Public Radio from Chico State that's on in Redding on 88.9. As for EMF and 91.5, selling sounds like the only option as K-Love and Air1 now have good coverage around Redding. Maybe they'll trade with JPR to get a translattor in the Weed/Yerka or Ashland/Medford areas

Jefferson Public Radio has three services. They are Classics & News, Rhythm & News and News & Information. In Redding, JPR has 90.9 as a translator for KSOR (Classics & News), KNCA 89.7 Burney-Redding (Rhythm & News) and KJPR 1330 (News & Information).

Jefferson fought for both 91.1 and 88.9 and lost.

I really don't believe that Jefferson Public Radio (based in Ashland, Oregon) would serve Redding better than Northstate Public Radio (Based in Chico), but I would like to see JPR continue to serve Redding. The Classics & News service will need a home when 91.1 signs on. I would like to see KLVB 91.5 to go to JPR for the Classics & News service.

We may want to move this discussion to the California board.
