K-News Now Also on 104.7

Does anyone have an insight on this new simulcast? It looks to me that the new 104.7 translator signal is roughly equivalent to the "main" 94.3 translator signal, although with slightly more power. However, they more or less have the same coverage area (I've always thought 94.3 does remarkably well for 99 watts).

When the move-in translator application was filed last year, I figured the K-News simulcast would be broken up with news/talk staying on KNWQ and 94.3 and something new on KNWZ and the new 104.7 translator. That's not the case however. 94.3 still has first billing, but is now cobranded with 104.7. As before, no mention in the graphics of the multiple AMs also carrying K-News.
