K-Rock's Listeners? They All Went To Q104.3

Playing second fiddle to all the hullaballoo regarding Now 92.3's first month in the PPM's, and of course, how PULSE 87 is faring, is the fact that whatever numbers WXRK lost, apparently were WAXQ's gain. Has anybody noticed that they finished in the Top 5?

Take into consideration what K-Rock sounded like from '07-'09. It was a station that went very heavy on classic rock titles from the '70s and '80s, played practically no new music, and there was plenty of overlap between them and Q. It's only logical that Q would win over the majority of their listeners. Those who enjoyed other less classic-intensive incarnations of K-Rock (between '95 and '06) either went to RXP, iPods, online or satellite radio.

Interestingly - and here's another footnote that was neglected due to our dance-a-holics - WRXP also went up some. They now attract roughly half the cume as Q104.

Re: K-Rock's Listeners? Only Halfl Went To Q104.3

Just look at the monthly PPM numbers. Both WRXP & WAXQ went up only two tenths of a share in April from the March numbers.

92.3 NOW and RXP are on the same level, and the former has bad ratings for a brand new radio station. No new radio station in New York has gotton off to a bad start and has succeeded. This includes WHTZ-100 eventhough they claimed they've gone from worst to first, their first rating 2.0 they became a CHR station the first week of August in 1983 which was in the middle of the summer ratings book.

Thanks,
Kevin L. Sealy

Blink 102.7 had better ratings in its first book. Look what happened.
Pulse 87's extrapolated rating, assuming equal signals, is twice that of 92.3 Now.
