K-Rock's Spoiled Meat @ 6

I've noticed they've been promoting Against Me's Thrash Unreal as Monday's "Fresh Meat"...

Oh rly? A song that was released as a single in July and been on the charts for 16 weeks already as "Fresh Meat?"

Looks like they have more work to do than I thought...and that included losing all the dino rock (wow Led Zep did not fit in the 5PM hour at all) and not wasting time on Welcome to Jamrock.

Who gives a crap about National charts.

Is the song being mass exposed in NYC? If not, I say its fresh meat.

True, but why not have added the single earlier in place of playing classic rock? Also, it's pretty boring to play the SAME fresh meat song all week. Why not have a different one each day? I'd actually tune in for that.

I don't know what the PD is doing but they REALLY need to get their head out of their --- and realize that currents are a good thing.

Agreed. K-Rock sounds more stale now than ever. When are they going to let go of all the tired Classic Rock? This is why people tuned out in the first place, and I personally would rather have Free-FM back than a boring Classic Rock-intensive rock station with a 200-250 song playlist. When the ratings come in and the station has shares just marginally higher than Free, maybe that will send a message to stubborn CBS. Leave the dinosaur rock to Q 104.3 and forge your own path. They should be on Against Me! by now, along with tons of other acts out there.

It's quite nutty, in that I agree with the initiator of this thread - it appears that reggae song "Welcome to Jamrock" is inasmuch a recurrent on K-Rock these days. It seems every time I turn it on, it appears to be played within ten minutes. The irony is I'll bet they don't even play the popular Marley hits.

Against Me! is a great band and one that radio ignored for way too long. I give credit to K-Rock for taking chances on Mutemath, Spoon and Feist. I can (kind of) understand how they throw in Guns N' Roses and Metallica every once in a while (your average meathead who enjoys Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice In Chains probably likes those bands) but classic rock like AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith should be left to Q as you said. However, I don't want to see them turn into the alterna-active hybrid they were in the early 00's where there was no focus and they pretty much played whatever was popular hoping to bring listeners in.

I really feel like Krock needs to take a page or two on the quick success of Philly's Radio 1045, except I would say make it a little harder. At least it would have some sort of direction.

I couldn't agree more w/ you more MoldaMania182. In the age of finding new music (and a variety) on the internet, tv , satellite, etc. The mere fact that radio has been "dumbed down" and "watered to the masses" would answer your question to this thread. To play the same "new" song the whole week at the same time makes no sense. Why not play a new different song by the band the whole week????? WOW What a concept !

Oh well. Sucks but at least there are lots of alternatives to find well... Alternative Music

What's even more embarrasing is these songs aren't even "fresh meant" but songs that have been climbing up the Modern Rock charts for months.
