K104 does not care about Latinos at all!

How is K104 gonna let go of Play N Skillz, who represent Latinos, gonna let go of Play N Skillz, and bring in someone who hasn't claimed to be Latino until he worked at CASA?

It's said that they are trying to gain hispanic numbers by bringing in DJ Hollywood, Lil Brownie, and G Spook (who are on from 10pm-2a) yet they show no love to Latinos?

That's true, but they didn't even give Play N Skillz a chance. That show lasted maybe a month. I was digging it, because it brought some variety to the station. I hope K104 is not starting to go back to their old ways. It's sad how bad radio is now. Is there any good stations out there anymore?

Really - talk about stating the obvious. Actually, they do a very good job at covering their target demographic, and they were on my presets when I lived there, even I liked some of the music (the stuff without sexual content and innuendo). WHY does every station have to care about every single group. It is not like Hispanics are under represented in DFW - how many stations are on the air up there catering to them? A dozen including rim shots? There are probably more stations up there catering to Hispanics than there are country stations.

I get a little tired - make that a LOT tired - of political correctness and activists with the "I'm gonna get in your face if you don't tow the line" attitude. My family has a 140 year history of helping Hispanics - I am presently offering to put one through Penn State - all expenses paid. And, yet, when I made the mistake on another board of posting late at night, tired, and posted the words "Mexican language" when I meant to type "Spanish language", I was attacked - yet again - by an activist on this board. Screw political correctness - I try as hard as I can to be sensitive and help, I really do, and I get treated VERY rudely for my trouble. It will not affect my offer to my daughter's friend, who is so proud she is likely to decline the scholarship offer. After this - I may not offer again. There are good and bad in every race, white, Hispanic, and African American, and I must try very very hard not to let the extremely rude behavior of a Hispanic activist not to end a 140 year tradition in my family. But I am human and have feelings that get hurt.

true theyre are a lot of spanish stations on the air here in dallas. none of which cater to english speaking hispanics. i dont care for any of these spanish stations. they're made for the mexicans coming in from mexico or older generation mexicans.

KKDA-FM isn't "corporate radio" -- KKDA, KKDA-FM, and KRNB are locally owned and the owner doesn't own any other stations in any other market. KKDA-FM has had the same owner since the mid-70s.

Wasn't that the point of "Casa 106.7" and "La Kalle" (back on 99.1)? It looks like their owners think going after Spanish-dominant folks will be more successful. That "hurban" format mixing R&B and reggaeton and bilingual jocks sure flamed out across most markets -- the ones in Dallas, Houston, Miami, etc. have all changed to other formats.

yes it was the point. but reggaeton never really took off here in dallas. it was more of a east coast thing. yeah, it had its 15 mintues here, but thats not what this market needed. what this market really needs a true party station. i myself would like to see a format similar to wild 94.9 in san francisco. we need a station that caters to latinos and everyone else. kiss fm honestly is for white people. no im not trying to be racist or start an arguement. its just telling the truth. k104 and the beat, we know they're target audience. i like rap music, but i would rather hear some dance. maybe some mixshows on the weekend that play dance, new and old.

listened for the first time today. sounds ok. latino jocks speaking all english. It could work on fm with good mix shows and the party station image. not just in the name but a party type station that really does market itself as a party station and plays the right music.
