K104 is NOT #1...For Real

I am surprised that they were beat out by a weak signal station.

I also wonder what will The Bone and The Twister do now?

Why didn't Univison give 99.1 the "La Kalle" name like they did their other hurbans?

Things that make you go "hmmmm....."

Place your bets on more of the same low-rent crap.

I would, but the odds are coming off at 2:3. Speaking of great rock radio stations (he said sarcastically) I rather enjoyed the Bone and ZPS playing Sweet Child of Mine at the same time, while the EDGE morning show rambled on about Kenny Rogers. Kill me now, or give me a stick to program. This ain't brain surgery.

I didn't realize that the DFW market was almost 20% Hispanic?! The Regional Mexican format seems to have taken off in markets dominated by a large Hispanic population. That's why that station has surpassed K104 in the ratings. Also, I thought the DFW area had more than 13% in African-American population. We'll see if the trends hold up when the actual numbers come out in a few weeks.

KESS-FM/107.9 is the closest in of all the northern-tier rimshots,
at least as far as the ``for enterainment purposes only'' data on
Radio Locator reveals.

Granted, I live in Collin County and work north of LBJ in Dallas
County, so my locational bias may be showing. Although I'm likely
not at all in the target demo, it's one of the few FMs I listen
to, and it puts a strong signal into my lowend car radio for the
whole commute.

I also hear KESS-FM quite frequently in various shops,
convenience stores and other businesses...but that's just
purely perceptual on my part.

After Arbitron adjusted for the 2000 census, DFW's hispanic population grew by about 300,000. Those folks were already here, just not counted.
