K104 Looking for a Morning Jock on Craigslist?

T

I was browsing Craigslist this morning and came across a posting for the used to be #1 station in the metroplex looking for morning show talent with only 2 years of experience. It was posted as soon they went off air so something must be terribly wrong. ??? I guess you got to do what you got to do. I think they should have a contest or maybe reach out to some other major talents. What's your thoughts on this...before you go apply. LOL!

Maybe they are trying to hire somebody on the cheap.

Look who owns them. That's really sad though looking for talent through Craigslist. Oh how the mighty have fallen. It all started when Skip and Co left and Cheatem took over. I never thought he was a good PD. Decent afternoon jock, but not great.

It's not uncommon for companies (large and small) to post their job postings on Craigslist. Besides, it's just a classified ad site anyway.

Why all of the complaints at least the are looking to hire a real perosn and not automate or syndicate like the rest of the world ;D

Three letters - EEO.

Craigslist is cheaper and easier than the newspaper, and probably as likely to deliver a quality candidate.

For Equal Opportunity requirements, they have to post an ad listing the job and then interview a few candidates and have a "file" in case someone comes calling. Putting an ad in the newspaper and placing an ad on Craiglist makes it legit.
Of course, 9 times out of 10, stations know EXACTLY who they are hiring before many of these ads are placed, but must go through the formalities anyway.

This is a very sad time as K104 has fallen to the number 11 spot ??? What is going on over there ??? When will they learn that in order for them to make any numbers they need A REAL MORNING SHOW that the DFW listeners will tune into. It's still not too late for SKIP MURPHY & COMPANY'S return. I believe the metroplex still awaits for the so called "management" to wake up and bring them back. There really isn't anything better out there right now.

I don't want to see heads roll, however clearly nothing is working.

 I agree! But what is the new PD doing? The entire management crew needs revamping. How does the owner just sit back and allow this sort of thing to happen to a former #1 station? Really it's an easy fix.
