Well it seem like one of my predictions already came true. Buck Wilde is history. They've even taken him off the website. As I figured, his ratings suuuucked!!!... I say let Bay-Bay do mornings. Thoughts?...

damn already?

Bring back Skip Murphy and Company! Expanding the demographics would probably help K104 in the PPM age.

So he was reassigned to overnights huh? I feel bad for him. Speaking as someone who just got canned for "creative differences" or because the station was "going in a different direction" I think it would be worse to have been sent to overnights than getting canned. But then again, I am sure Buc is making more bucks working overnights than I got from unemployment compensation after my "golden parachute" was depleted. But then again, if they sent him to overnights it was because he had a contract and they had to pay him so they figured if we have to pay him we may as well get some use out of him. If I were him, I' would have my lawyer look at my contract again. If it reads mon-fri 6 - 10, he could fight the reassignment. Either way, it sucks. I hate that for a fellow radio-guy. Vets cut their teeth in overnights. Nobody who makes it to mornings in a major market could possibly be cool with going back to overnights. Could they?

He can't blame nobody, but himself. When he left Birmingham AND his morning crew behind, he should have seen the warning signs then.

Now what does this say about the quality of WBHJ/"95.7 Jamz" in Birmingham and its personalities considering he was the highest paid and "most experienced" of their roster?

As I said once before, 95.7 Jamz is one of the worst urban stations I've ever seen. Hence, why even when I lived in Birmingham, I didn't listen to urban radio because its too much segmentation of the urban format leaving the average adult frustrated.

Back to the point at hand: Hopefully George Cook will put a personality on air is appropriate to everybody in the mornings. K-104 is the heritage station in the DFW Metroplex and should give them something everybody that likes urban radio will enjoy listening to on air.

Even if he did bring his crew from there to the DFW Metroplex, then they all would have wind up sh*t without a paddle. They were wise to stay in Birmingham, where they are the only urban in town and basically "safe".

Funny how folks expect a jump back to the top in less than a year. KBFB didn't trump K104 overnight... it took years. But much like the street life dreams of a young thug, or the rapid fix of a feind grabbing their next high, corporate execs want "instant gratification" and when it the "shipment doesn't come thru," you're done!~

So who's the magic man they believe will give them their *instant boost* they want?? I'd hate to be in that position. I wouldn't change my drivers license yet..........
