K104's official morning show is....

"The Crazy Azz Morning Show" starring DeDe McGuire, Lady Jade, and Kevvy Kev...

This show is a TRAGIC SHIP RECK!!!!
Will never have ratings above 10. No ratings, no revenue. Wake up Childs. Don't let these people disgrace you or our K104.

Damn, was hoping you'd say Warren Epps and Vern Catron.

"Kevvy Kev" does sound like a 5-yr old's nickname. I'm sure he'll go far in radio, like TommyTom Joyner and StevieSteve Harvey.

I'm sensing that Hyman is merely "calling it in" these days. The station could have fetched $90 mil at one time, and he wouldn't sell. Now it's out of the Top 10, probably for good, and each morning show hire is a step down from the last.

Ooooooo, you are so right on. The entire station is so far off the map and drowning.

I think Kevvy Kev is the dj formerly known as Special K from the night show at 97.9.

Let's face it...Despite all of the P.R. hoopla, new show title, etc... It's still the same old repacked morning show. It's a temporary facade at staff stabillity, but it probably won't last too long. I'm sure they are still searching. The fact is, morning jocks are either naturally funny, or great team leaders/ facillatators. Knowing how and when to extract the humor out of the supporting cast, and listeners. BTW, what happened in the latest trend? Cume up, AQH down.

I just looked at the latest numbers and the K104 Morning Show (or crazy ass) was 7th, Harvey was 11th, Rickey Smiley was 18th, and Tom Joyner was 29th. I'm not sure what ratings you guys are looking at down there in Dallas, but it looks like Service has a good thing going on right now considering it has changed morning shows twice in the past 6 months and it's still 7th! Dee Dee will be alright if they continue to let her run the show. I'm happy for a female running things for once. Bring back Skip Murphy & Co? Please stop it. Everytime the three or four of you start talking about Dallas, someone has to say bring back Skip Murphy. Well what happened with them at Citadel? Why won't Radio One in Dallas hire them? Why don't you hire them at your station? LOL! Awwwwww the good old days. LET IT GO!

Very simple why Radio One won't hire them.....Radio One owns 51% of Reach Media...they are in partnership with Tom Joyner. Do you think that would sit well with him? Do you think they are going to pay a live person when they pretty much have an in-house morning personality, that's basically across the street from them.

I listened to Skip Murphy and company for years, Dede McQuire and company can't hold a candle to that show in its heyday and I still like K104.

My wife and I listen to the show every morning. And it is just good enough to keep us listening, but that about all. I was very much in support of the move to remove Buck Wilde and keep DeDe and Jade. But I was hoping that they would bring in a big personality and strong leader to be the main host and let DeDe be 2nd chair and Jade 3rd chair.

I like Supa K, but he is not what I had in mind. I think further changes need to be made. But since there are few alternatives, we will keep listening to K104.

I don't listen to syndicated (Steve Harvey), and I surely won't listen to some that is non-local (Ricky Smiley).

I suspect a lot of stations could have fetched a bunch more money when Fagreed & Trickey Dickey and the rest of the radio illiterate "financial wizard" consolidators ran prices up to ludicrously inflated levels like 21x cash flow. That had nothing to do with what a property was really worth as a local radio station that actually has an interest in serving the community it broadcasts to. Just an uneducated guess here but I seriously doubt that Hyman is merely "calling it in". The playing field has changed radically with the advent of PPM, changing demos, competition from non-terrestrial venues, and with the collapse of the radio price bubble. There are reasons why K104/KRNB regularly outperform their competition ratings-wise that probably would not be happening were Hyman reallymerely "calling it in".

That's very true. Stations that do actually serve their communities tend to maintain better ratings overall and higher cume compared to the "corporate outfit" that puts little to no effort to localize their products.
