K104's Signal

Can K104 be received in Matamorris,PA, Honesdale, Port Jervis, Catskills, Delhi, Jeffersonville? I know they go pretty far for their signal I just don't know how far. Radio-Locator's maps aren't correct.

I remember when I heard it during the top of the hour where they said "Serving New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and a little itty bitty piece of Vermont." That's what "K104's" signal is all about. I remember that liner in years.

WSPK makes into certain parts of NE Jersey but its pretty spotty once you get south and west of the Westwood area.....After that its pretty full of static and illegal pirates.

I can pick up K104 in Hamlin, PA. K104 a better station then 98.5 WKRZ and 97.1 WBHT in the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Market.

Anyone know if K104 has an I-Block machine? Maybe that's why WZMR tends to be so weak to the south (well, that and WAMC's 105.1 repeater in Great Barrington) :)

They do not. They did just get a new antenna though. Pamal as a group has publicly stated they have no interest in HD radio in general.

Ah, yes... didn't remember who owned K104, but yea... the only way Pamal would ever go HD is if the FCC mandated it on full-power FM stations (which'll never happen ;))

I'm all for HD on the FM band, but on AM? No way... the I-Block machine on 810 and 980 gets in the way of my nighttime DXing on adjacent frequencies :(

To me...WSPK K 104.7 was and still is a better station than WFLY Fly 92 Albany. At least K 104.7 went dance leaning alot.

Yea... when WFLY started to lean more rock in the mid-2000s because of Jamz going Rhythmic, I felt like they were starting to tank... but nowadays WFLY has pretty much gone back to a Mainstream CHR direction :)

Still, I tend to prefer Jamz and Kiss nowadays :D
