K217GB back on the air

With all the translator news on the board lately, I will note that K217GB 91.3 returned to the air today, rebroadcasting KXNG. Had been off since July 15. Audio is in sync with 91.7. Signal appears to be the same as before, so nothing has changed with the transmitter in the Med Center.

I think that's just a placeholder. My prediction is that KSBJEF will roll-out another network, and it will find a home on both 91.3 and 99.5.

Is KSBJ going to be required to move it at some point? What building is this thing on, at S. Main & W. Holcombe?

I hope they don't flip 99.5. It fills a tremendous hole 91.7 has in Sugarland and South Katy.

I was quite surprised, actually... was listening to 91.7 last night in southwestern Sugarland (59 and 99) area, signal was stronger than ever, complete with HD. Signal rivals KSBJ's, at least in that area...

It's going to happen, Bruce. Just as soon as KSBEJEF acquires a second full power signal for the southern portions of the MSA, to pair with KXBJ. I know of nothing pending, but I'd surely support it. Once KXNG is paid off, that is. I don't believe the Foundation is done, by a long shot. The aspirations of the ministry are to have radio coverage throughout southeast Texas and beyond. NGEN, alone, is geared to become a regional "network" of stations within Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, & Oklahoma. That doesn't even mention what the future holds in store for the main CCM ministry.

It wasn't that long ago that people around here thought that KSBJ mortgaged the farm to acquire KXBJ from Liberman. That acquisition is now in the rear view, and it's "on to the next one", as the kids say.
