Yesterday? And when should we be calling BMI, Sesac, ASCAP, GMR regarding minimum fees for playing their music?
Brian Spencer did QSL a couple stations (AM) for me years ago. But I have tried to get a hold of him to see if he owns 92.9. He knew what a reception report is. I don't ask for a QSL anyway, I just want a verification of a report.Remember, the average radio station staff member has no idea what "QSL" means. That is a ham term. Even the Medium Wave (AM) DX clubs don't use the term, although they understand it.
That is interesting. I wonder what that will do with the signal from KAHS on the coast? That 100 watter K225DC is fair to weak but is pretty regular at 100 miles. The folks behind K225DC today filed for a pattern change and frequency shift to 106.5. There was no engineering report noted to accompany the filing. The filing states K225DC relays KGTK 920. I guess they realized 92.9 was a lost cause with KVNW approaching.

The funny thing is that 92.9 is supposed to null the SW, yet it pretty strong. I wonder if they are N/D? Would they have to protect KAHS-LP?
Modification submitted today for K225DC.
Trying to move to 106.5 still but much less power.
I like the mix the 92.9 plays. I wish the signal was stronger here. No internet for them as far as I know either. I have not stopped by as yet. I still plan another trip to Aberdeen. It is a 2 hour drive from Warrenton.RE KGHO: You know, it’s really too bad. With more forethought, this operation could be far more professional than it is. It’s a shame because KGHO offers something different on the radio that you don’t hear anywhere else, but let’s be realistic, nobody was going to listen to that translator. Their energy would be far better spent on creating a legally compliant operation in Aberdeen and leaving it at that.
I’ll be curious to see what happens next. If
I were the folks behind KGHO, I would just focus on operations within Grays Harbor and forget about anything else.

Sunny no longer uses any satellite feeds, nor does KANY. Rhys still comes in regularly and chats with Johnny Manson on 94.7 FM, usually about sports. We enjoyed working with Rhys for over 25 years.I still miss Rhys Davis. A total pro in the radio business. But 102.1 has evolved and has (mostly) left the satellite feed behind.
Someone with an FIM-71 should field-run their pattern after this thing is built to see if they are using the pattern and orientation listed in the CP. Knowing their track record, I'd say it's more than likely they'll just throw something together on the cheap that won't be anything close to the requirements.Todsy the FCC threw a bone to NWR&RPS, granting them 10 watts directional on 106.5 for K225DC. No new callsign found yet..
Indeed this is another bogus filing. The paperwork mocks the engineering process claiming -40dB then in 10 degrees jumping to full power. A two-bay Bext Log-R has a gain of just 9.3 dBd.Someone with an FIM-71 should field-run their pattern after this thing is built to see if they are using the pattern and orientation listed in the CP. I'm hoping the Bustos will take the time and check their final construction parameters. True justice would be Bustos 'busting' the 'Flim-Flam Preservation Society'.Indeed this is another bogus filing. The recent $20K fine should end this sad history at some point.
Wouldn't that be special if they filed for a license with this station having not been built yet? Can't believe some of the DX'ers/radio nerds around this site haven't checked yet.Congrats to the NWR&RPS gang. The FCC approved the group's new 106.5 frequency and downgraded power (10 watts) . K225DC is now known as K293DE with the rockers having just filed their L2C (11/29)
I still love that cool antenna pattern with the 40 dB drop in just 10 degrees. The scientists at the National Labs had to burn the midnight oil on that project. I think it's that new synthetic aperture technology at play here folks.
Has anyone heard 106.5 yet? Of course it's relaying KGHO-LP...
No word yet when KVNW will launch and backfill 92.9.
