K225DC 92.9 (KGTK?) contact help appreciated.

That's good and bad. The good is The Flim-Flam-Preservation-Society finally got busted. The unfortunate part is the Commission didn't uphold the original twenty-grand fine after the brothers blatantly lied to the Commission. Boo-hoo! We don't have $20,000.00! Well, start selling personal assets like cars or property until you do.
The DOJ collects/enforces the fines the FCC imposes

I am sure the legal fees alone were painful. Perhaps this story will have some future twists.

I wonder if their Tacoma (K281CI) relay can really be fed by Capitol Peak (K293DE) at the new lower power of just 10 watts. it will probably be noisy.. (Yes, translator inputs have to be protected when neew stations apply for a frequency So 106.5 will have to be protected on some of the angles inTacoma)

Somehow, they used to be able to pull in a signal from their station on 99.9 in Aberdeen on top of Capitol Peak. Of course, that strategy didn’t go as planned when the antenna got moved and 101.1 started relaying KISW.

Is the 106.5 actually on the air? I was in Olympia yesterday, but we were just passing through and I didn't have a portable radio with me. Given this outfit's history though, I'm skeptical that 106.5 was ever constructed.

Listening to 106.5 the last few days along I-5..For 10 watts the signal reaches from Vader south of Chehalis to almost the Tacoma Dome... 10 watts ERP? Really??!!!

Yes, 106.5 is definitely relaying KGHO-LP, so is 104.1 in the Tacoma area although that latter frequency''s coverage is not so hot.

Oh yes, KVNW 92.9 Napavine has yet sign on.

Isn't there a rule where the LPFM is required to originate their own programming and can't use other LP's like some sort of network?

They reach Vader? “If you only knew the power of the dark side…”
For some reason during my 15 hour drive from OshKosh, WI to Virginia, I wondered when the first FM DX'er would attempt to put an antenna or portable radio onto a drone and fly it up high enough to claim they heard some station miles away. I believe that thought came around the 14-hour mark when the Monster Energy drink was wearing off.

Someone has already done it:

After one failed attempt for 104.1 in Tacoma, the Northwest Rock N' Roll Preservation Society did get an FCC approval (12/18) for 92.9 in that city with a directional pattern. K225DI will operate using a 37M pole ; the antenna is a Kathrein-Scala CL-FM-3DA(V) (0.87 Wavelength). Audio will be fed from K293DE (106.5 10 watts Capitol Peak).

This 92.9 Tacoma translator coverage will be sandwiched between KISM and soon-to-launch KVNW.

Isn't there a 92.9 translator or LPFM in Renton now?

What could possibly go wrong? Using audio from a 10 watt translator over 30 miles away, rebroadcast on a frequency that's not favorable. KISM isn't strong in Tacoma. It's audible and listenable if you want to listen to it, but it's noisy. Still, it's an easy catch is many parts of town. A translator on 92.9 should easily override KISM, but the 50kw blowtorch to the north will probably interfere with it. It doesn't seem like a very realistic plan.

Ironically, both KITZ (Silverdale) and KGTK (Olympia) today filed (STA) to go silent:

KITZ:

"In June 2022, the third-party property owner of the licensed KITZ transmitter site opted not to
renew the station’s tower lease. After a period of authorized silence, the station secured an
engineering STA to operate a low-power facility from an alternative site, and has been operating
with that facility under successive extensions of the engineering STA.
As of January 24, 2025, KITZ has been taken silent while the licensee evaluates its options for
continued operation of the station."

KGTK:
"As of January 24, 2025, KGTK has been taken silent while the licensee works to assign the
station to a new owner."

KGTK lately has been a lot of open carrier with some audio.
