K225DC South Bay WA (92.9) (KGTK)

I am still trying to find out who is running the oldies format on 92.9. Is this Brian Spencer? There is also KGHO-LP in Hoquiam that runs oldies. Is this the same programming? I have tried calling KGTK 920 several times only to get voice mail. No one has returned my calls. The E Mail on the KGTK site doesn't seem to work. In the past Brian has replied to QSL Requests for his AM's. K225DC comes in pretty well most of the time on the North Oregon Coast with my Yagi. If I lived in the area, I would drive over. Possibly no one is at the station anyway. Unmanned? Any help would be appreciated.

I would check on the Seattle Tacoma Radio board on this site. Nobody is likely to see your question on the TV side of this site. The Spencer crew is indeed involved with this station, and indeed it appears to take the audio from KGHO-LP. KGTK is supposedly the feeder for this translator, but that has not been the case for years if it ever was. I do not believe KGTK 920AM is on the air- their sister station/simulcast KITZ 1400 in Silverdale lost their tower lease last summer and has been off the air since.

In other words, this translator has been running afoul of the rules for a long time. A moot point here soon when KVNW Napavine signs on. K225DC will be wiped out pretty much I think.

Thanks. I'll post there.

Thank you! At least I have a contact number. I guess legally you can have a translator for an LPFM?
Sure, if the licensee of the translator is essentially agreeing (aka being paid in some way) to carry the programming of another station.
