K276GX 103.1 is moving to the Stratosphere!

There is a construction permit to move K276GX to the Stratosphere and improve its signal.

This translator began as K284CW 104.7 with “1 watt”. It caused massive interference to KJUL 104.7. Listeners had complained, I even filed an informal objection. The translator was ordered to shut down for interference and failed to do so for months.

103.1 freed up because an LPFM lost its license. K284CW then moved to 103.1 and became K276GX. For a while, this translator really did broadcast with one watt. Then it got a power increase to 250 watts.

K276GX is currently silent.

Good for Ed. He can hopefully put some value into 790, or sell it for some cash (I’m not sure if it’s permanently tied to KBET or not)

My apologies for this mortal sin. (Or is it a venial sin? I don’t know, I grew up Presbyterian).

I feel like the only way I can be free of this transgression is to talk about it with @DrAkbar and make a sizable contribution to the Buckeye School of Broadcasting.

Anywho, still happy somebody got 3/4ths the way up the Strat. Is that supposed to be on a side-mount attached to the concrete tower? AFAIK, the antennae at the Strat are on the top of the tower on a small spire.

Maybe there’s no room left on the combiner on top. It looks like there are two 2 bay antennas. I assume that the two boosters are on one and the 5 translators are on the other
