Continuous Wave,

In 2013, there actully were two LPFM apps prepared for New Beginnings Houston one for 92.5, the other for 106.1. I don't recall exactly why the 92.5 app was abandoned in favor of 106.1 -- maybe something to do with possible interference with the oldies station from Beaumont. On the other app, the FCC designated the proposed station as Facility #197857. It no longer appears in searches on the "public" CDBS system because New Beginnings app was withdrawn before closure of the filing window. The decision to withdraw was made because (1) an attorney who used to represent a certain analog LPTV licensee clearly and unequivocally authorized us to resurrect and use that license until all analog broadcasting must cease, and (2) our ministry didn't have the financial ability to construct both a LPTV and an LPFM.

An hour ago I called the engineer who helped with the 2013 submission. He again advised me there are now no usable frequencies available for any LPFM at the Lat/Lon coordinates of the tower adjacent to our ministry headquarters. Ten minutes ago, he emailed me a printout from the FCC confirming this. I will share it here.

CW, I know you are an engineer so I'm not doubting you. If you have some ideas on how to get our LPFM app reinstated and to put it on, please share. Some of you guys are smarter than others. Over two decades ago I was best friends with one of the most brightest radio engineers I ever knew: John Harrold kept stations from San Angelo to Amarillo (KELI, KQIZ, KPUR, etc) running great. In the early 90s, he briefly worked here in Houston with KQQK -- told me that xmtr shack was one nastiest he'd ever been in. It was full of junk that needed to be put in a dumpster. The owners wouldn't come off the money needed for repairs and upgrades, so he walked away. Anyway, I digress here. John's retired now, if he's even still living.

Next, what's this about translators "gobbling up" the spectrum? I don't think that's the way to talk to government officials, Joseph! * sigh

Sorry about the crude language, but all I was doing was quoting the exact terminology used by an author on the COMMLAW BLOG. See pic.

Dead air

I tried listening last night at midnight, but the only thing I heard was dead air. As of 12:30 this afternoon, they're still only broadcasting dead air. Their only social media activity since that time period only involves listening to their programming on demand. Not to mention, their site has been down for at least 2 days.
