K31GL-DT is on the air!

I noticed on Friday that K31GL-D 31.4 now has color bars on it with a note that says: Ch. Available Call x for information. (it gives a Dallas phone number) So what would you put on a subchannel of a low power digital station?

As of today 31.4 has gone dark (silent). I guess they could bring it back if they get any takers, though.

I should've mentioned this a while ago, but the test pattern came back on 31.4 after a few days. I've been curiously tuning in from time to time, just to see if anyone has put up any programming yet. Nothing so far....

Has anyone bothered to call the number on the screen?

Check out 31.3. Something called "TheCoolTV" showing music videos and a few commercials. Kind of like the defunct "The Tube" network.

I did a quick Google search and found a Hungarian and a defunct Canadian TV station using that branding, but this is something new.

Oh; and 31.4 is gone again. I guess no one called the number - or maybe "TheCoolTV" did, but the infomercials formerly on 31.3 pulled the plug.

TheCoolTV also airs on KGNG-LD 47.3 in Las Vegas NV.

Cool! (No pun intended.) KGNG even has a website - with a link to TheCoolTV's website.

I added TheCoolTV to K31GL's Wikipedia page. Didn't delete channel 31.4 yet, though - once bitten, twice shy.

AMGTV on K31GL-DT subchannel 31.4?

Today I tuned to 31.4 (which has been dark from the time of TheCoolTV's debut on 31.3 until yesterday), and discovered AMGTV!

AMGTV was on 34.2 for a few weeks in March but dropped off at the beginning of April. It's been on KHPK-LD 3.2 but that station is hard to receive.

AMGTV was moved from 3.2 to 31.4 Monday night so that we could cover more of West Fort Worth. I am using a Magnavox TB110MW9 converter box from Wal-Mart ($50) and a RCA Multi-Directional Digital Flat Amplified Antenna (also from Wal-Mart-$30) and pick 31.4 up PERFECTLY in Crowley and Burleson. Looks really good! Tried the RCA ATSC Converter Box (also from Wal-Mart) and could only pick up 31.1. Not sure why that is, same antenna and locations, but it would not pick up any of the the 31 subs. AMGTV schedule is available at www.amgtv.tv
Starting Monday we are giving away a set of 4 Schlitterbaun tickets with two nights at the Radisson Market Square in San Antonio. We will be giving these away every week for the next six weeks. Tell your friends and thanks for watching AMGTV on 31.4!

Thanks for the info. Good decision, I think. Channel 31 has good coverage of the metroplex, will be less affected by lightning and other interference, and doesn't need a ginormous antenna.

Not sure what's up with the RCA CECB. If you get 31.1 you should get all the other subchannels too. Probably some minor problem with the PSIP that the RCA box doesn't like. I can get all four subchannels with a Samsung HDTV STB and with any of my three CECBs - a Philco TB100HH9 (basically the same as the Magnavox), an Apex DT250, and a Channel Master CM-7000, so whatever's wrong apparently doesn't bother most DTV box brands.
