K92 FM mornings

BIG APE, I just follow what my girl Kathy Mattea said to do years ago ... walk the way wind blows. ;)
The funny thing is, after 26 years doing this I've found radio is like clothes ... wait around and watch everything come back in and out of style a few times. These old eyes HAVE seen it all, and for some twisted reason I still love it - maybe now more than ever!

I am a fan of Doc. I think that he is really very good. His problem is that he is very opinionated, political, and passionate. Those are the perfect ingredients for a talk radio show, not a basic morning DJ. I think he would be a fantastic addition to 104.1 in the place of the belated Lex and Terry re-runs after Philips.

I didn't know that Doc had moved on to K92 until my MIL was ranting that they changed her morning show on K92 to 'some guy who says he's a doctor or something' and that she would never listen to the channel again. That's another problem that Doc will have. The average listener to K92 is of an age that does NOT like change, therefore, Doc will be rejected outright by the audience before he gets a chance to prove himself. Don't get me wrong. Some of the audience will give him a chance, but the majority has already moved on. Those that do give him a chance will like what they hear, but by then the ratings will come in and... well....

Open note to Doc: Trying to bring the old cronies on the air from XL will not work. I'm sorry for your friend Soul Brotha or Captain Redneck or what ever he is calling himself today, but he will not work out for you in a country format.

;D  Although you have your opinion, but I can see, you or your girlfriend aren't involved in the radio or broadcasting business.. Radio stations aren't referred to by the general public as "Channels"  Unless it was  WLOF....CHANNEL 95

Nope! My Buddy Steve Rutledge's Dad owned it..I went to University of Florida with Steve..I grew up in Cocoa Beach, a product of 860 WKKO...1300 WRKT...WCKS..CK101

But I loved "The Day" Channel 95 kicking WHOO's Ass!

BIG APE!

You are correct. I do have a right to my opinion. ::) You are also correct in that I am a lay person, but that doesn't my opinion any less valid. As a matter of fact, it makes my opinion matter more as I am an actual listener.

Not to mention that you, shoothoops, are actually Doc. You're a little like Rickey Henderson, referring to yourself in the third person.

No Brad, I'm Doc.
