KAAM 77 Saturday Night Oldies Show Cancelled

With that, now there is NO reason for me to listen to KAAM.

At least you can. When they started playing with HD - they went from a semi-local signal in NW Houston to - GONE - almost completely. I sure wish they would can the HD so I could hear them again. I bet it also devastates their coverage in Dallas.

They haven't been "HD" in several years.

And according to a recent DX club report they're running on reduced day power....issues with the antenna system supposedly.

Well, no wonder I thought their signal seemed a little weaker. Checking the FCC files reveals an application filed by KAAM in mid-October; it stated that they had reduced their daytime power to 2,000 watts because of a defective capacitor. That was replaced, they said, but there were other problems that needed to be addressed. As a result the FCC granted an STA that allowed the station to operate with "parameters at variance [from licensed values] and reduced power not to exceed 5 kilowatts." Apparently they're still working on it.

No, Don Jr found another way to cut costs. Maybe he signed up for the Reliant Free Electricity Nights and Weekends, too. Are they still playing 10% music/90% ColonBlow infomercials?

THERE'S a station that should have been sold off to the Koreans instead. The automated version of KKDA-AM was the best that station's sounded in years. Of course, anything's better than hearing "Strokin'" and "Who's Makin' Love" every hour on the hour.
