KAAM's Web stream

Someone mentioned KAAM's Web stream here a few days ago, and I just checked it out. Man, it DOES sound nice! I do a good bit of stream surfing, and I don't know that I've heard 23 kbps produce that much fidelity before. For a comparison, go to KUT-Austin's Web site, and listen to their 24 kbps stream and hear how muffled it sounds in comparison.

Now don't get me wrong: While KAAM's 23 kbps sounds about as good as you could EVER expect 23 kbps to sound, I usually don't waste time on Internet music streams that aren't 64 kbps or above. Whey bother... when there's no shortage of free, high-quality streaming on the Internet.

For anyone who's interested, do a search for Virgin Radio UK's 128 kbps stream (FYI: It's bundled into iTunes in the Top 40 section of the "Radio Tuner"). THAT is how an Internet stream should sound.

As i said in a earlier post, KAAM must have changed it again. It WAS sounding pretty damn good, but now it's changed a little.

I love Yahoo's launccast. When i first tuned in about a year ago they sounded fantastic, but they too have changed a bit, but it still sounds pretty good.

KOIT and KABL in SF sounds decent.
