Of course, if he wins, I suspect that the city’s population will immediately get back to pre-Katrina levels. Here's what you narrow minded children missed. During the storm, Kaare was one of the only reporters to make it down to St.Bernard to report of the devistation. He hussled his way all over this city to get stories. He's at least doing something with his life and not just posting on a blog site. I watched him get overlooked, after the job he did for Entercom, when there were positions open on the air. Most of you posting were not in the city during the storm, I WAS! You should be behind him, not throwing stones at him. Can you name someone else in the race that has proclaimed their love for this city like Kaare has over the years??? No, you can't. Well, I think he will do a great job, And I'll give money to see that. Please, I invite you all to post what things you've done for this city. I'm no Dummy-crat, but I'd vote for this guy in a second.

OHHHHHH, so THAT’S the standard to get elected here! Now I get it (pounding my forehead) - I thought brains, vision, etc., were the standard. Silly me.... Well, then, let’s see - I know a woman who REALLY, REALLY, REALLY loves the city - maybe I can talk her into running. She is really stupid, though, and has no teeth, but, hey, she loves the place.

I kind of agree with Psycodelic-1. Why all the anger and hate for a guy who loves this city as much as anyone? I'll take a loud mouth who I know is not a crook instead of a re-tread who's been stealing from us for 20 years. All these life long politicians have to go and someone steps up to attempt to give people choice and it's about his height and his daddy? that's b.s. man, I give the guy credit for putting his money where his mouth is, I don't see ksw, or ned or anyone else on this board taking a chance to help this city. All kidding aside, what qualifications - precisely - does Karre have to be on the city counsel? Loving New Orleans is a cliché and does not qualify you for anything. I love New Orleans, too, but I am not qualified to be on the City Council. Come on, give us one qualification....

There are three to become president. Must be a "born on the soil" American citizen, must be 35 years of age and have not been convicted of a feloney. City council would be even less. I'll answer you, after you answer this. What are the qualifications required to be a city council member? Look at our govenor, she was a school board member and home maker when she started out.
What qualifications are required to be a radio DJ or air talent? Pressing buttons? And yes, you too are probably qualified to be on the city council as well. Again, I'm no Kaare fan, but I admire his drive. Lastly, to find out if he's really qualified, see if the state has cashed his entry fee. If they have, then he is. Go Bob Walker!!!

I mean what make him intellectually qualified for the job? In other words, I assume that if a brain dead person wanted to run for City Council, you would agree that he does not have the necessary qualifications to serve. So, what does Karre have that qualifies him to serve, save for a love of New Orleans. Is he particularly smart? Is he particularly visionary? Is he particularly clever? Is he a coalition builder? Does he have a stated position on any issue important to the city? Come on, this is an easy one - tell me WHY you think he should serve.

I'll answer when you tell me what the law says the qualifications are. What was Dorathy Mae Taylor or Johnny Jackson Jr or Frank Friedler, nothing but bodies taking up space. City council people don't often go on to do great, or even notable things. It takes someone with commitment, willing to get his "or her" hands dirty and a desire to see the city become better. What more is there? I think the guy posseses that. I also think people will watch him closely because of who his dad was. This should make him an even better council person.
Arnie Fielkow has only been in the city for a short time "He's not a native by a long shot", and he was elected over a long time council person. So, It's time for a change. Kaare went to LSU, he ain't stupid. I would like to see a guy whit a "Yat" speak on the council as well. And, I found out he passed the "must be this tall to be on the council" mark on the wall by three inches. So there!!! Cajun Ken Cooper Rulez!

Don't make fun of Kaare Johnson-He will be the NEXT MAYOR of New Orleans. And Darrell Greene will come back to New Orleans and become Superintendant of Police.
