During a pre-dawn bandscan this morning, I came across something I haven't heard for a very long time. KAAY was booming. This was at about 430am. More than two hours before sunrise. Have they finally solved their well-documented transmitter/ground system problems? Or were they just operating on "day pattern"....50KW omnidirectional? I suspect the latter. Although, the path to the southwest seemed quite good this morning. Saint Louis stations were also booming....most notably KTRS on 550.
Whatever it was, it seemed like the KAAY top 40 "glory days" with a strong nighttime signal into the Chicago area on 1090. Has anyone else noticed anything, or know if anything might be up?
