Talk about ships that pass in the night, rfry, we met some friends for Dinner at Zehnder's in Frankenmuth on Thursday and left about 8:00 PM. I don't remember tuning in 1090, but I checked 540 in the car to see if Frank's old station, now WFLF, was there from Florida, that used to be WGTO. Couldn't hear much though. I heard it a few nights about a year ago. The local groundwaves seemed to be coming in better than usual, WSAM 1400 was quite good, WHHQ 1250, WMAX 1440, WTRX 1330, and WFNT 1470 were all coming in with little interference in Frankenmuth that night. WGL 1250 Ft. Wayne and the station that used to be WTAE 1250 Pittsburgh are usually heard interfering near there off the back of the WHHQ 1250 pattern from the old WKNX 1210 towers (plus a 1/4 wavelength added South of the three dogleg 1/2+ wavelength towers). 1470 had some WMBD 1470 interference, but WFNT was easily heard. After WEAW/WKTA 1330 goes to night facilities there, WTRX has numerous but weak interfering signals. WBCM/WMAX also has numerous but weak interfering signals.
