KABB San Antonio adds subchannel

Fox 29-1 is now joined by The Country Network on 29-2. The times I've tuned in it was running country music videos. After checking their website tcncountry.com I learned that's alll they do.

What is the deal with music video sub channels? Why can't there be a This TV network or Retro TV? Something that plays shows.

It doesn't cost anything to play music videos. I think the whole thing can run on a server. But maybe it will give them the option to do other things like local events.

The Country Network has launched on a dozen stations owned by Sinclair Broadcasting as part of a deal. More discussion about the channel on the National TV board.

I wonder how much royalties, if any, stations like these end up paying...

I don't mind the music video subchannels, at least its something different and since NONE of the cable and SATV music video channels play any music videos ANYLONGER Why can't KSAT, WOAI and KENS switch at least ONE of their subchannels from that spanish language feldergarb and air something that OTHER people would like to watch, like that RTV network, old shows and old 'grey and white' movies? Don't we have enough spanish language channels OTA here already? Not everyone in this town is 'english as a second language' and wants to see spanish tv.

Yeah, There are those of us who have Spanish as a second language and enjoy watching the additional Spanish channels. Feldergarb? You're not from around here, are you?

Maybe one of the digital subchannels could carry DWTV (Deutsche Welle TV.) It's Germany's equivalent of Voice of America TV.
