Kabc has very little consistency on weekends!!!

It is pathetic they use to have larry kudlows show on saturday night but moved that so they could put kim commandos show on which use to be on saturday morning but they had to make room for the infomercial. And they use to have victory sessions on sunday at 5 no more and they cant make there mind up when to air money talk with mr brinker???

And on and on.

I just dont understand this station??? I hate los angeles am radio on the weekends!!!It is pathetic!!!Especially kabc.To be followed by a even worse ktlk which needs to be blown up!!! I never agreed much with tom hartman but he had a decent show and now what replaced it is not that good. And getting rid of wall street journal wrap for dave kruz should be criminal. He belongs on npr or a nursing home take your pick. Sorry i digress.

Whether you are a music or talk station you want consistency. Same jocks same talk show hosts same times on the weekends for the shows. Consistency is the key.Have they not learned anything from kfi???

I remember back in 2000 when gloria alred had a talk show on kabc. But in my opinion thats when they seemed to know what they were doing. Now if they have a good show on the weekend they seem to not care if they have to move it for an infomercial or not play it at all!!!

Opinions

Their only consistency is how bad their hosts (Geraldo being soft on illegals), anchors (specially Debra Mark!!), imaging & commercials are (Larry Elder! God freakin' awful!)!

What are you talking about? KFI has changed its weekends schedule MANY TIMES in the past few years. Some now-defunct hosts off the top of my head: John Batchelor, Frost(y) Stilwell, Phil Hendrie (did that even last a year?), and Charles Payne. They also used to have Saturday shows for John & Ken and Tim Conway Jr. Then there's the numerous times Bryan Suits and Wayne Resnick have been shuffled around and/or had their program lengths cut/expanded, as well as the various hosts that Coast to Coast alternates. (Not being a C2C listener, I looked it up on Wikipedia and their schedule is a hoot: "George Noory hosts the show on weeknights and the first Sunday of every month. John B. Wells hosts the show on Saturday nights. Ian Punnett hosts the show on the second Sunday of every month. Las Vegas-based investigative journalist George Knapp hosts the 3rd and 4th Sunday of each month, and when there is a 5th Sunday, Rob Simone, Whitley Strieber or a fill-in will host the show. On some 3rd and 4th Sundays, Rob Simone fills in for George Knapp." Everybody got that?)

I agree, KFI weekends is horrible. Maybe just a slight bit better thanks to Bill Handle and Leo Laporte, but honestly cannot imagine anyone in their right mind listening to the Fork Report, The Fabulous whoever, then the new boring additions, Wayne Resnik and maybe worst of all Bryan Suits. KFI is just lucky that KABC is so dumb and stupid that they have no competition whatsoever.

At least though kfi is not back to back to back infomercials like kabc is with few exceptions. Kabc should be ashamed of themselves.

Why the dickeys wanted them is beyond me.They will never ever return ever ever ever to what they were!!!

I think douglas is very talented and should looking for greener pastures. If that means going outside cali so be it!!!That would be quite the loss for cali in my opinion!!!

KFWB? Also a weekend mess. They do have consistency but having the same real estate infomercial 3 different times a day....not sure if that counts. These stations will take anytihng if the money is right.

KFWB is a mess in general. They started their path to failure by rebranding as Dr. Laura radio, only to have Schlessinger herself quit terrestrial radio. They tried to make it seem like a big deal when they obtained rights to her show from KFI, but it hasn't gone well so far. On KABC- They have a good morning host, now do something with that. He gets very little time to talk, unlike his stint in the late night role. Weekends is a mess besides Motorman and possibly one or two obscure shows I haven't checked out. Someone left the suits (not Bryan) to do the work.

Is there a major market station more messed up than KABC?

Kudlow, Ron Insana (if he is still on the air) etc. are throw away shows...although Insana has a little more background. The weekend are dead on talk radio anyway...just for the hardcore people without a life.

I disagree somewhat. I don't listen to The Fork Report or Lisa Ann Walter, but I can see that they suit certain audiences. Radio shows about food always attract listeners (plus Neil Saavedra is also Jesus so how can you go wrong?), and I imagine LAW attracts the middle aged mom demo. I was merely commenting on how the weekend schedule changes a lot, not necessarily commenting about the quality of the programming. I do enjoy Wayne Resnick and Bryan Suits a lot, for the record. I think they have interesting things to say and don't sound like every other AM talk host (Suits has actually been to war, for example).

Funny how you can lump those two shows together.

Larry Kudlow does a great radio show with a good balance of money and politics, interesting guests and good caller segments.

Ron "We'll Have To Leave It There" Insana, OTHO did a radio show that was a short-lived disaster. Ron was fine reading a teleprompter on the set of CNBC, but he managed to make the radio show sound soooo difficult! Even though he had three hours of air time, he was always hurrying the guests and callers along because, gosh, we're almost out of time!! If there was a hint of something interesting developing, he'd interrupt it. I don't think he wasn't paying any attention to what his guests and callers were saying because he was so concerned about the clock.

Regardless of the subject matter, the host makes all the difference.
