KABC Morning Show

Anyone have an idea what kind of numbers Doug Mcintyre pulls at KABC?
I hear no Buzz about the guy or his cohorts, yet he's been doing mornings
for several years at the ABC property. KABC has become a tier-2 talker
with KFI's dominance in the past 5 years. The performance of that radio
station has to be a top priority for Citadel.

He has been doing mornings for 2 years he took over when ken retired. He is pretty good he subs for bill o reilly sometimes.Don't know his numbers but must be good he is still there!!!

Wow, SRF. Why the venom? Yes, it's well-known that Mr. KABC's real name is Marc Germain, but he wouldn't be the first person to change his name for a gig. Look at David Johnston, Gordon Gary, and Gerry Rivers. They all became David Ono, Gordon Tokumatsu, and Geraldo Rivera, respectively. I don't think Marc changed his name to be funny. Mr. KABC (ne Mr. KFI) is at least memorable and as unique as his show.

Honest, I really don't have any venom towards Mr KABC. I listen to him occasionally... I just think it's STUPID. What if if Paul Moyer called himself Mr Channel4? Wouldn't that be equally stupid? Marc doesn't need a shtick to be intelligent and informative. Sorry just my opinion.

Didn't realize Ono, Tokumatsu, and Rivera all had different names for a gig. True, Mr. KFI was a clever gimmick to get station-hoppers to tune in. The Ask Marc Germaine Show wouldn't have had the same ring to it. Anyway, if I recall correctly, the original Ask MrKFI program did well enough on weekends to warrant a move to weeknights. He had an interesting answer for nearly any question on the minds of listeners, except for questions about sports. All was going well for a while until the Cox sisters wanted Phil Hendrie's presence in LA, so being the odd man out, he opted to move to KABC and change his name in the process. I had a hard time receiving KABC as MrKABC was constantly pre-empted by the Dodgers, so I slowly drifted away for years until I had nearly forgotten that MrKABC was still around, somewhere. Last year I accidentally tuned into KABC and heard his show again for the first time in many years. It was good to hear a familiar voice, but I think I must've outgrown some of the clever MrKFIsms that were gospel during my college years because I ended up tuning in to his former station a few minutes later. He's probably the nicest guys in radio, hope he will continue to flourish.

Apples and oranges. Paul Moyer is a journalist (are anchors "journalists"? But I digress...). Mr. KABC is an entertainer. Channel 4 gets the news out there. KABC entertains, with brief stopdowns for news.
