What was plain wrong? According to John Higdon, who was engineering the switch, the change was made at noon. I was listening in just before noon, and the station was off the air. About ten minutes later, KKDV came on.
Unless my watch was wrong, and the station's engineer was wrong...

They're still taking action on the KEAR (106.9) switch -- date and format. The bookie will be parked behind KNBR's transmitter in Belmont around midnight each Friday until it happens. Bring cash.
And tell 'em Shifty sent ya.
