KABL?? What happened?

I was in Monterey this weekend, and found a station on 1460 AM which claimed to be KABL (maybe some diferent call letter combination that sounded similar). It was ID's as "Monterey- Salinas." They also called it "The Paisano." It was an excellent radio station and sounded really good on my car radio. I was totally amazed at the audio quality for an AM station. Anyone found it on the web?
