KACU going to EMF or Simply a Management Vacuum?

Does anyone know the goings on at Abilene Christian University's KACU-FM in Abilene?

KACU's fourteen year Ops Manager, D. Grant Smith, departed the station suddenly and silently in April just as long time General Manager John Best announced his retirement.

It would seem quite logical that D Grant was their heir apparent for the GM post, and "puff" he's gone like the wind and without a word. I can't imagine how disappointing he must be after putting in 14 years of hard work; there must be a story there somewhere.

Now, Mr. Best has left for retirement, his name and bio eliminated from the website, with no replacement GM or OM to fill those key vacancies.

Also, seems like one other key position (Development or Membership) has had only a part-time, interim person filling that vacancy, with the long time legacy staff member in that position also having departed KACU without ever having been replaced.

Additionally, ACU-TV (k07uf) KUF-TV has never applied to transition to digital and appears not to have filed for a license renewal either.

Is KACU-FM being sold to Educational Media Foundation / EMF?
