Kaden 93.3 Audition

I just dont understand the needless self promotion some people do. I bet his channel gets more views from this post then they would otherwise. ::)

Word has it he was offered the gig but turned it down to move down south...word will be released tomorrow.

And I agree about the self promotion deal. I've never heard good things about him anyway.

This is my first post ever on this site, but I have been reading some of these crazy comments for a long time now. TODAY was the day I decided to register so I could comment. I DON'T know Kaden, but LOVE the fact that he self promotes himself. My gosh if you DON'T do it yourself who would? I never got a chance to listen to him on Movin and I did NOT hear the audition at The Bone. He DOES have a pretty decent website and the audio there shows he's ceative! I will agree that may be Classic Rock is a stretch for him!

To the one cat that says he hasn't heard good things about him? If you DON'T know don't speculate. Give the guy a break. He wants to get a gig and is using whatever he has to to get his name out there!

You're right, if you DON'T know then DON'T speculate...elsewhere, BUT here is where you and I differ. I have every right to speculate seeing as majority of this site is based on opinion. SO, I have EVERY right to speculate and especially when I probably know a bit more than you think but needless to say, me nor anyone else on this board needs to justify themselves. But you're OPINION is accepted because, again, that is what this board stems from. :-*

Thanks Marxman. You took the words right out of my mouth. I saw that video on Kaden's myspace page (which looks great, btw). People bitch, moan and complain about jocks being liner readers with no personality, but when a guy like Kaden takes the initiative and goes above and beyond, he is slammed for it. The video was a "BIT", you know, the thing many of you gripe about not hearing anymore. If you checked his myspace, you would also see another video from the day 107.5 fired him.

I don't know the guy and I don't believe he is a fit for 93.3 (if anything is a fit for that station now),but I do think he is a great CHR jock.

"Needless Self Promotion"? You guys are obviously NOT jocks who are accustomed to working for companies with no money to promote or advertise. The ONLY way many jocks get their names out there is by doing it themselves. Youtube/Social Networking etc. are the best ways to get your message/name/etc, to the masses. If your bit is funny enough, people will share it/market it for you. The days of having a billboard and tv ad campaign are all but done.

I wish the guy the best.

Kaden lands at KKHH (Hot 95.7) in Houston, according to www.allaccess.com

That's why Board Monkey doesn't understand the value, concept, or benefits of 'self promotion'....he RUNS A BOARD. And that's it. Don't confuse ego with talent and skills. While I don't think Kaden would have totally fit in at 93.3...I do hear he's a stellar CHR. Okay,...time to take some meter readings BA...

::)Just to let you know. You have no idea what I do in radio. My s/n may be what it is, but I see your doin board op duties. Most everyone that has worked in programming has run a board.

My point being that I dont see the value of producing a you tube piece to continue to let people know your on the beach.

Producing a youtube video shows your next employer what you are capeable of doing and it gives your listeners something to let them know what is going on (should you pop up somehwre else in the same market). Even though the current corporate mentality does not get it, the fact remains that DJ's are entertainers (well, those that are good, anyway).

blackdog, I understand what your saying and I actually understood the "whole picture" reasoning for Kaden's you tube piece. Having worked in radio long enough I'm VERY tired of Jock's blowing their own whistle. DJ's come and go, very few stick around long enough to mean anything to anyone.
