KAET analog signoff on YouTube

Low-key for KAET - no tribute or any other indication of the end of analog broadcasting on KAET after 48 years. They played the signoff message - twice - and then shut it down.

YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfEeP5HCA_o

KAET-DT moved from UHF channel 29 to VHF channel 8 a few minutes later to become Arizona's first VHF digital station. Transition occurred smoothly. Viewers will need to rescan so that their TV or converter box finds KAET on channel 8 rather than looking for it on channel 29. This may help out Tucson's Daystar station, KPCE-LP, which broadcasts on channel 29.

I don't think that's the actual analog switchoff video. The logo isn't even right! (the logo shown on screen was pre-2006)

I remember that a few years ago, Channel 8 would shutoff during the late night hours on Sunday for a few hours. Eventually, they played music from KBAQ as shutoff during those hours.

They are now on the air 24/7.

That was the actual analog switchoff. I recorded it at 11:59 PM on 4/29/2009. Within minutes, their digital signal had been moved to channel 8.
