KAGY 1510 Status

Unknown on KAGY other than a STA probably to be off the air.

ON KNOU, If WTIX is at full power again, it means the tower is up and running, But KNOU is in Bankruptcy court and is unknown if they have the money to finance a transmitter if I remember that they lost it last year.

But anyhow, Technically KNOU has to be on air for a least a couple of days by March 22nd or they loose the license.

RFLA

no but the signal for WTIX has been coming into the bayou area like old times lately after someone had said they were back on full power... I may be mistaken however...

I don't Think you are mistaken. WTIX could be picked up well offshore at least 20 miles past Port Fourchon/ Grand Isle pre K. When it was on the backup in Harrahan TIX was unhearable( signal not Programing). Now it is covering the same area as Pre K.

I've received TIX over 40 miles offshore while fishing out of Venice. WTIX, KKND, and KXOR have the best deep-sea signals. (excluding WWL 870, that is)

KAGY is being rebuilt piece-by-piece. Transmitter has been purchased. They are next working on getting a building and tower built down in Plaquemines. Not a whole lot being rebuilt right now in Port Sulphur. As far as TIX-FM, they are not at full power, simply on the Lode-Star tower with everybody else. Costello can't afford the correct bays let a lone a new transmitter. He had been on top of his building in Metairie, so the extra height has helped the signal.

Why would Costello invest any more money in his personal jukebox?

As long as he can hear 24/7 Beatles, the other listeners don't mean squat.

Maybe if someone bought him an iPod, 'TIX-FM could be done with respect, not as the joke it is now.
