KAHM Move

Just found this on the FCC website. KAHM has filed to move their city of license from Prescott, AZ to Spring Valley as well as move their xmtr location further south. In doing so, KAHM will put a 60 dBU almost to the Phoenix area. Question is, whether the format will be retained if/when the station moves or if a more lucrative format might be on the agenda? Here's the 60 dBu contours for the licensed facilities at Prescott along with the proposed facilities at Spring Valley:

Thanks for that information, passtheword. KAHM is one of the many stations I try to listen to at least once a week. You raise an interesting question about changing formats being closer to Phoenix. It's hard to say, but I would consider Phoenix—in fact, all of Arizona—in the same category as Florida as a popular retirement area, so there may be some incentive to keep the format. Phoenix does already have KOY, a Dial-Global America's Best Music station, but from what I've heard of that recently, it's nothing like KAHM's genuine easy listening format.

I'm a member of the Beautiful Instrumentals and Vocals Yahoo Group and they seem to think KAHM is committed to the format.

I'm disappointed to hear KOY thinks smooth jazz is a good thing. It doesn't seem like a format that would work on AM anyway.
